What is Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage in that it focuses on setting a rhythm and using flowing strokes to apply pressure to muscles throughout the whole body. The main difference between deep tissue massage and Swedish massage is that deep tissue massage uses more pressure to push deeper into the muscle, and more likely you will feel the sore knots and muscle.
What is the benefit of Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage will work out the knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to alleviate immediate pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
How often should I get a Deep Tissue Massage
In most instances, deep tissue massage once a week or fortnightly is usually enough to manage pain sufficiently. However, if your pain is particularly bad one day it's better to try remedial massage.
