What is Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a complementary therapy that aims to treat muscles that are damaged, knotted, tense or immobile, especially when you are facing tight neck and shoulder, tennis elbow, arthritis, sciatic pain etc. It is intended as a more targeted treatment for pain and injury. Lots of private health insurance companies in Australia cover the benefit of remedial massage, which means you only need to pay gap payment. This vary from $25-50 per hour out of pocket.

What is the benefit of Remedial Massage

Remedial massage can stimulate the blood supply, make joints more mobile, and help to repair damaged tissues. The therapist will aim to balance the length, tone and tension of muscles and tendons, which restores the correct position of the bones, increases blood flow and helps heal injuries.

How often should I get a Remedial Massage

The frequency of remedial massage depends on the individual health situation. In most cases, weekly treatment for 3 to 5 times will create lots of improvement, such as muscle mobility and flexibility, reducing pain scale.  The follow up fortnightly treatment 2 times would be recommended. Then monthly treatment for maintenance when necessary.
